So for 2006, I made no resolutions. Or at least no posted resolutions. So I must go back to
2004 for my 2005 rezzies. Here is a little plus/minus on those ideas from way back....
2005 Resolutions:
(+++) 1. Become more honest without basically just yapping everything that comes into my head.
All those social work classes made me REALLY good at this. Out of all my resolutions, I think I have become most sucessful with this one.
(---) 2. Learn to like (or at least appreciate) sushi.
This is probably my biggest failure with the obvious exception of number 5.
(++-) 3. Become more responisble without becoming less fun.
I think I have become much, much more responsible within the last two years at the expense of my fun. Boo.
(--+) 4. BE MORE FUN!
Yeah... didn't really work out.
(---) 5. Learn more Polish, while still keeping up with and doing well with Russian.
Biggest failure. Not only have I not learned Polish at all, I have not studied up on the Russian in quite some time. I can still remember choice phrases such as, "I am hungry like the wolf," but I need to brush up. Brush up, dammit!
(+--) 6. Do assignments before the night they are due.
I don't know how I can say I have gotten both better and worse at this resolution, but I have. From doing assignments days before they are due, I gradually started doing them the day they are due. Bad Tabby.
(+-+) 7. Try new things. Good things.
I would like to think that since 2005 I have been better about trying new things. Could I tell you what any of those things were? Maybe... Seaweed, certain fried vegetables come to mind because I didn't like them. Any good, new things that I have tried? Does extreme concert going count? Traveling with a band? Maybe that counts... I have been traveling a lot now.
(???) 8. Don't wait, just live.
What does this even mean? I don't think I've done this.
Reliving all those failures, I now resolve to try to take smaller, more managable steps. (What a social worker thing to do! Motivation? None...) So here goes...
My 2007 New Years Resolutions:
1. Be more healthy.
2. Exercise somewhat regularly.
3. Become more confident about myself.
4. Love myself.
5. Be online more often and post to lj more than once a month.
6. Make it to the Price is Right before Bob Barker retires this year. (I'm thinking April?)
There. Six things that I should be able to do. As long as "fun" isn't involved, this should be relatively simple. Number six has been a dream of mine forever. I need that to happen. Need it.
Just as a side note, ever since 2006 came around, I thought somewhere in my mind that it was actually 2007. Now that its here, I don't know what to do.
Happy New Years everyone! I hope everyone has a good 2007.
