We're never going to be as young as we are tonight.
Well, I am officially 19 years old.
My birthday didn't turn out so bad, after all. Last night kinda sucked, though.
This morning I went to the campus post office to receive a "package" they told me had arrived.
Turns out it was just a card from my mom and the envelope wouldn't fit in my mailbox.
Also turns out that it was one of those talking/singing cards,
and when I opened it walking to the union, I jumped a foot in the air,
and the guy walking past me was a little startled, as well.
When they scanned my card at Einstein's, the cashier wished me a happy birthday.
I didn't know it showed up on their screens, so that was really strange.
I had breakfast alone, which isn't anything unusual.
Went to math and astronomy, then lunch with Alexis.
Once again, the cashier told me to have a good birthday.. so weird.
After lunch with Alexis, I went to journalism.
We had two quizzes but got out within a half hour of class starting.
Then I got ready for dinner, and the fun began.
We all went to Chili's, there were about 15 of us.
About 10 minutes after we got our food, the power went out.
Looked out the window, and yep, the whole city went out.
Then we all got a text from NAU Alert that said the entire campus is down.
There was also a small fire in the Cowden dorm...
So yep, we ate the rest of our dinner in the dark.
The few emergency lights they had were on, but it was still crazy.
I didn't get my birthday dessert because they had closed the kitchen.
That part really sucked, but Liz said she'll take me back next week.
5 of the 15 who said they were coming didn't,
but 4 of the people who said they might be coming did,
so it worked out really well :)
Obviously the power is back now, or at least on campus it is.
I'm taking the shuttle home tomorrow at 10 AM, ugh.
I still have to pack, and bring homework with me.. joy.
This weekend should be a good one, though.
Then two days of classes, one day with only yoga for me, haha,
then back home again! Well, technically Tucson.
Alright, I should get packing..
