Everything Is Alright...
Okay so I have been slacking on my journal which i promised myself i would update as frequently as possible while i'm over here, in hopes of not forgetting my experiences. this past weekend i met up with josh terry in manchester for Motion City's show with OK GO and the Matches. I'd never really seen anything from either of the supporting bands but they weren't too bad when it came down to it. The next night i went with them to the all american rejects/format show. The format is so amazing, they really give me hope for this genre that i have so certainly been doubting recently. I was told they were boring live, but that was either a complete live or they have gotten their act together since their last tour. There music pretty much puts on its own show anyways, they were absolutely splendid. kudos for the devastatingly attractive men of The Format. I didn't sleep much the whole weekend, it was pretty much all music, drinking, and a long winding hunt for late night pizza with josh and motion city's bassist (his name escapes me at the moment). long story short, i met lots of cool people over the weekend, including tyson of the rejects (yes he's just as cute in person), and more interestingly a few of josh's friends that were pretty awesome. i'll see them again during my weekend trip to london which i leave for on thursday, so that will be grand. i will also get to meet up with christine, a girl from highschool who is studying in london that i pretty much haven't seen since graduation. it should be a really fun weekend.
last night i booked a flight to edinburgh scotland for the weekend of october 13th. i am going by myself and am going on the haggis tour there, which is essentially just a crazy tour of all the crazy things in scotland. i am having a really fantastic time here and i'm glad that the akward settling in stage is coming to its close. school is annoying but at least i only go three days a week. and OH YEAH! i joined the radio station and the mountaineering club here - both of which i have meetings for tonight so hopefully they will be good things for me. aside from my room being really dirty, things are looking up. but hey, when isn't my room dirty?
