i met jay's sister and mom for the first time last night & today. i've talked to them both before, for about three seconds a piece. jay's sister's boyfriend was there as well, looking all of his thirty-three brillo-creamed and handlebar-mustached years. he was very nice, though, very quiet. i didn't feel like any of them were judging me at all. in fact, they were all quite nice. jessica wants to write (jesus inspiration) creative nonfiction, so we've got that going for us. jay's mom offered to "make it happen" if jay and i want to go down and help with this thing jessica's mission puts on called "the big feed." she asked me about grad school and what i want to do and i had to explain the creative writing thing. good god....and then we all went to vertigo, where jessica bought frank sinatra, louis armstrong, and asked if they had christian records, to which they replied "not so much."
so, there were jay and i, with our living in sin and other stuff, and jessica and philip, with their missionaryness and church trips and feeding poor people. jay's mom was very nice, considering.
then jay and i came home, and i proceeded to drive him so nuts with my restlessness, apathy, and general boredom that we went for a walk, during which we saw a dead squirrel and jay slipped and effed up his knee.
