So things have finally settled down. I finished out the semester, took two weeks to wallow in my cerebral breakdown, and now feel ready to conquer the world! Ok, maybe just my little corner of Austin.
This week is Anastacia's last week of school, pretty soon she'll be a 1st grader. I'm fighting back tears at the the thought. She is ready for summer, for sleeping in, for afternoons by the pool, for late night ice cream cones, for staying in bed all morning reading a "chapter" book with mommy. She is also frantically trying to figure out her dance routines for the recital in a few weeks. I will try and snap a picts later, way to cute to watch her shake her boo-tay for jazz.
Doug is traveling again, spending the week in Portland. I miss him with my whole heart. But it is nice to be able to cook vegetables without hearing him complain. And I can have switch between Twilight and Pride and Prejudice as many times as I want when I'm folding laundry and not feel like a brat.
We had a great weekend celebrating my birthday. Alisa came out with us and we saw UP! Way to cute! We both teared up like crybabies and then almost choked over "Doug the Dog." SQUIRL!!! We had yummy pasta and gabbed. Doug and Anastacia got me my first ever ipod (I know, I know, I am WAY behind on the whole technology thing) so now I am throwing CD's into itunes and feeling a bit of shock. Most of my music is so OLD... like, oh, I don't know, from the late 90's. You know, when I had a job but nothing better to spend my money on. It's kinda sad. I havn't been living under a rock, but my music purchases are definitly in a time warp. I guess it's just one step closer to turning into my parents. A camping trip with my dad is still not complete without Sgt. Pepper, Houses of the Holy, and Dark Side of the Moon. Just for me, it's Pitchshifter, Our Lady Peace, and Tori....
So today, my plan is to: get 3 loads of laundry pushed through (the hamper is VERY scarry right now), pick up my room and maybe the living room, hit up the farmer's market for some food, and then finish the A-Z mystery with Anastacia. Oh, I should probably spend an hour or so on my German and my Bibliography for my proposed dissertation topics... ok, off to work :)
