Sooooo, after oversleeping by two hours (so cannot do that next week...) I whipped up some cinnamin muffins... oops, I mean breakfast cookies. Unfortunately, I over-filled the mini-muffin cups, which means I put the right amount in instead of just a little bit, and the puffed up to actually muffin dimensions.... I was in a panic. How was I going to handle this? I decided to go with an ounce of truth, and an ounce of deception (the magic formula, right?):
"Good morning princess, how did you sleep?"
"Fine, mommy."
"I have some bad news, I put to much cookie batter in the muffin tin, and they puffed up and kinda, sorta, look like muffins, but they ARE breakfast cookies."
"Oh, mommy. I think they really ARE muffins. Maybe you just tricked me today. I'll eat them anyways, but tommorow, I want REAL breakfast cookies."
"ummm Ok baby girl, whatever you say....."
that was it, no fussing, no yelling, and she had two servings of them. Go figure.
In other news, last night I went to kindergarden orientation and met her new teacher. She seems like a super nice woman. I figured out where I will pick Anastacia up, what I can/cannot send in her lunch, what day is P.E. and all that other important stuff. Monday we have "meet the teacher" where all the kids show up to see their classrom, and Tuesday morning is her first day.
Tuesday, I also meet with Dr. Johns, for whom I'll be TAing. I have three sections of students from the "Renaissance to Post-Modern" class. It should be alot of fun. I was a bit nervouse about going back to TA'ing after running my own class for two years. I think I would have a hard time giving up my mantel of authority. But at UT, I run my own study section, and I get to organize it anyway I want. I have some semblance of controle, but at the same time, I am not the end-all, be-all, icon to the students. If anyone has a problem, I can turn them over to the real Prof. I will miss my title though....
I am looking forward to a nice quiet weekend before all the crazyness kicks in next week.... YIPEE!
