I know. It's been a very long time since I made that entry about a big update coming soon.... This isn't soon, Jess. This is the opposite of soon.
Well, it's here now.
I'll start with myself and work my way out from there. I've probably had a birthday since the last time I updated, which makes me 22. Jess Fest this year was sadly a little different than other years (i.e. the some key people either couldn't or chose not to make it), but it was pretty much a blast anyway. Nothing better than playing Twister in my living room and eating a big chocolate cake with a little piggy drawn on it with icing. And we had some newbies, too. Welcome, newbies!
Wedding plans are well underway, and as I check the ticker on my profile page, I see that we only have four months, four weeks, and one day left to go. This elicits several different feelings from me, more of which can be read about in
bridetobe0707.
Also new and exciting is that I have put in for a transfer to a different department at work. Starting next Thursday, I'll be playing up in family medicine as an MOA. Which is pretty much what I've always wanted. This is my pony.
School wasn't going to work out very well, forcing me to either do clinicals during the summer or next fall, neither of which made me very happy. After much pushing and prodding, I finally got the answer that I was hoping for: they're going to use past nursing clinical experience and current work experience in my favor so that I can finish school this semester. I've seriously never worked so hard for something that was in opposition to me. It was rewarding. Now I'll just have to find a MA job when I get certified, which will be more working against opposition, I'm sure. It will be worth it.
I stopped leading the contemporary service in December, but was able to pick up leading WATCh this semester. It's kind of sad not leading on Sundays, but it was time to move on. Plus, it is in preparation for moving over to Countryside, which will happen after the wedding. In other church-y news, Zach and I are going through layspeaker training this weekend and next. Look out Billy Graham...
Zach has moved out of his parents' house and into our future home. It's nice having him in town. Pretty soon he'll be at the grocery store trying to decide if he can afford name-brand Ramen... =)
I miss all of you and can't wait to hear from you/see you/talk your ears off.
(Lisa, this means that we have to have a date pretty soon because I have presents for you and I miss you like crazy! I'll call you.)
Peace out, kids.
