Crossing Complete? Thank you Izanami-sama

Mom and I expected to already be in the city taking care of some stuff there (my job this trip, primarily company).  Obviously not headed out yet.

I slept well, only got up twice.  The first time about 8 when my daughter called to say goodnight (well, she busted out into Merry Christmas as soon as I said hello, then got down to business after she got a laugh out of me).  She's sad, but understands.  We all expected him to go before now, but he was just hurting too much to let him try to keep carrying on.  The second time I got up was an hour later, when I had an enormous craving for apple pie and a big chunk of pepper jack cheese.

I still have no idea where THAT came from.  After falling back into bed, I was very quickly around/ensconced within where I belong (feels nice to know there is in fact somewhere/with someone like that).  So basically, Time for me stopped and I was able to rest.

As I had been falling asleep, Blackie crawled under the covers with me and slept on his back on my right side, resting his arm on my upper arm and singing.  Such a cute kitty, and it helped.

By the time I woke up, the large pillar candle that I had lit to help guide my dog Across had extinguished itself.  I really expected it to burn through the day as well.  Things feel finished though, and there was a sense of sad satisfaction when standing before my working altar, holding my little Banzai-kitten after she'd twined herself around my ankles.  Izanami and Izanagi's goshintai, as well as Goruden's and the "gold" Quan Yin from the working altar that I had at the other place, were among some of the things brought home and were on the altar last night.

This feels correct, and with my kamidana on the other side of the room and an ancestral altar beneath that... but that is for another post.

Mom didn't sleep as well though... but slept better after 3:30 when she says that she heard Chubbs drag himself across the kitchen linoleum.

Time to go now.  Roads are hopefully safe, and we are both awake enough for the trip now.
