A glossary update
The glossary is receiving an update. This stems from an accident in recording the audiobook that was too awesome an idea to discard. As such, Illya Leonov now makes an important contribution to the Mermishdian language and culture through his work.
The original entry:
Mermishdian - One of several undersea languages
The new entry:Mermishdian - One of several undersea languages. This word is pronounced differently than it is spelled, as several of the words in this language are. When read, it is Mermishandian. The greatest trick in learning to speak/sing the language is knowing where the hidden syllables are and how they change the meaning.
Future books in the series will have this change reflected in their glossary, as it is a language that will be referenced from time to time through the entire series of books. When it is time to reissue the print editions the new editions will also have the definition expansion. Those books that have the original entry will be able to be considered collector editions.
Of course now this means that eventually I will have to come up with a ditty sung in mermishdian (but not get Illya to sing it).
