People I admire.

Here's that list I promised yesterday...or Thursday...whatever...

In no particular order :)

1. Craig Ferguson - He's very talented, funny, and smart. He overcame alcoholism and found success as a comedian/author/talk show host. It took him a long time, but he finally found his happiness. Stories like his make me optimistic about my own future because nothing I'm going through is as bad as addiction, and if he can overcome that, then surely I can get over my tiny problems.

2. Tony Slattery - Most of the same reasons as Craig Ferguson with one more. He went through two simultaneous addictions and recovered. He copes with bipolar disorder, and he's back in television again from what I've read. In my opinion, he's incredibly lucky to be alive. As with my first person, if he can recover from all of that and still have something to work at managing...that really makes whatever stresses me out seem minor.

3. John Sessions - I always admire anyone who is intelligent, and that word fits him to the tee. I also admire how he was unafraid to let his intelligence show instead of "dumbing down" the jokes that he knew people probably wouldn't understand as easily. That shows a certain type of fearlessness on his part, and I wish I could take that fearlessness and apply it to myself in any way possible.

4. Drew Carey - He found success after a difficult past: two suicide attempts, et cetera. I know this is sort of repeating the reasons for Tony and Craig, but I admire people who went through hard times and recovered. He also seems like a friendly guy who you could go up to and just start a conversation. Not many people in show business are like that.

5. Richard Vranch - For one, he's a fellow musician, and I admire everyone almost everyone with musical talent because I know how much work goes into learning how to play an instrument. (I say almost everyone because there are some people with musical talent I don't really admire because of questionable actions.) For two, he's funny, and a sense of humor is always a good thing to have. For three, he's smart...the man has a Ph.D. in physics!

6. America Ferrara - She goes to prove that you don't have to be stick-thin to be beautiful! I've seen her when she's not Betty-ified and I happen to think that she's pretty. If more women would just embrace their curves, then there would be far fewer anorexics...and girls like me would stand a chance!

Yes, I'm American, and yes, most of these people are British. I don't care. I find admirable qualities in people regardless of nationality, and I will admire whomever I want to, regardless of their nationality. People are people, no matter where they're born. :)

Thank you.
