- bain mattox:
Bain Mattox is the first local band that I began to support after I moved here to Athens. They opened for Sister Hazel at the Ga Theater, and I HAD to have the cd that had that "shine...something?" song on it. From there it's history-- I've seen band member changes...and more band member changes, and evolution from one thing to the next to the next. I will ALWAYS love some Bain Mattox, long live the Associated Poets! - candlebox:
Candlebox is one of those guilty pleasure hair bands that I cannot live without. Can you see a little bitty 3rd grader me liking Candlebox? Oh yeah, \m/! - ezralites:
Ezralites are a crazy, fabulous, roadtripping sort of species. Our love for and joking about Better Than Ezra knows no end. Some of my best friends are Ezralites, we rock hard and take names later. - hope for agoldensummer:
HFAGS is another local band I admire. Claire and the aformentioned Bain once had a group called Claire and Bain's Maple Yum-Yum.
The harmonies that the Campbell sisters eminate are heavenly. Listen to Midwest and you'll love them forever. - lips down on dixie:
LDOD ROCKS ME HARD. This cast of Rocky Horror performs at LeFont plaza in Little Five every Friday night at midnight...my life would not be complete without a little Time Warp woven in every once in a while. Plus, if Jevocas is ever there playing Frankenfurter--best black ass I've ever seen. Oh, and I'll never walk in heels as good as that guy. Never. - muse:
Muse amazed me for several reasons.
Stainless steel stage setup
HARD rockin guitar and bass with a modern twist that frankly, we've all been looking for.
Matching (not identical) outfits= style out the ASS.
- promotions:
There's nothing I love more than helping to promote someone or something that really deserves it. - sephora:
Sephora is an overdrawn bank account waiting to happen. Benefit, Nars, Stila and more all in one store? ARE YOU KIDDING? I could spend ALL day in this store, and don't think I'm kidding. - the music:
I saw The Music at MistleToe Jam last holiday season- they really were a breath of fresh air for me, musically. They did have a hit on 99X (you know, the one that sounded like it could've been Jane's Addiction), but I'm not sure if they'll bounce back with more material. Such energy on stage though. - virginia coalition:
VACO is a party in my pants. If they don't make you want to dance, I'm not sure what will. You should seek professional help.
Plus, Andy Wonder and I both love the Aqua Teens. It's been documented, uh-huh.
