THe first doctor I saw, a sort of GP, was rather young and slightly given to flights of drama and mild panic.

The second I saw was the endocrinologist, who was nice and laid back, in a sort of *charming grandfather* rather than *slimey old lech* way. He also seemed to genuinely like people and want to help. Besides, I appreciate people who start their appointments with me with:
*why, I wish all my patients were as pretty as you!*

What he wants is to monitor the prolactin in my blood over the next few months, and if it gets higher then start drug treatment to supress it.

In his opinion, it cfould be down to a number of factors, and although brain tumour is a possibility it is either one at the very beginning or one that is tiny. In any case, they are nearly always benign, develop very slowly and the first line of treatment for prolactinomas is not surgery but medication.

My breasts have grown fuller though. Heavier, and slightly tender. THis is not altogether surprising since prolactin stimulates milk production.

Basically my body is acting like I'm pregnant even though I am not. How fun.

And hurray, I may have the makings of a brain tumour but at least I get bigger breasts in the bargain.

Bigger breasts would be ok, it's the other aspects of it that I am less thrilled about. Aside from being able to provide my own milk for my coffee I fail to see many benefits.

hormones are cunts, body wonk
