Travelling

Z and I have assurred the Custms officials that we are not in the habts of committing acts of terrorism or moral turpitude and have been allowed into the USA. We are currently in Iowa, on the first leg of our Road Trip. It is so much fun that we are having a difficult time restraining ourselves from shouting Road Trip!!!! to one another every 5 minutes.

Everyone is very kind and at pains to point out any place of historical interest, often by writing it on the building itself (Historical shop: original 1890 tin roof!). Watching the Accent Off between Z and the people around us continues to delight and amuse.

Small examples:
Z: Does this car use unleaded petol?
Person: Unloaded what?
Z: Unleaded.
Person: Oh! You mean unleadid gaaaas!
Z: (turning to me) Please help.

Cabs are more expensive and the American people friendlier than we expected. I'm experiencing my standard Vast-Open-Spaces induced agoraphobia and the size of the food portions terrifies me somewhat, but we're having a grand time and I can't stop taking pictures.

Posting may be light due to the fact that I appear to be the only person everywhere without a laptop.
