Galileo: Fighting crime in business casual.

Galileo

She's a headstrong rookie cop. He's the genius scientist with no time for lesser mortals. Together, they investigate cleverly intricate doomsday plots!

Snarky partners/wannabe crime-fighters/paranormal investigators. Sort of like the X-Files, except there are no aliens and everyone's Asian, and the climax of every episode involves Fukuyama Masaharu drawing equations on foggy car windows while Shibasaki Kou derides his social skills in polite Japanese. It's awesome.

Yukawa is a brilliant physicist with a love of science and not much else...

Utsumi is the annoyed cop forced to seek his help about a bizarre case. They become partners of sorts, Yukawa the brains, Utsumi the handcuffs, uncovering the mysteries of seemingly unexplainable phenomena.

And they're a very effective team....

If you ignore the bickering.

And insults.

And constant mockery.

And mutual exasperation.

And neverending verbal sparring...

And I do mean neverending.

With a backdrop of freaky supernatural crime that must be explained with nothing but good looks and TV banter.

I FUCKING LOVE UTSUMI, AND ALL THE HATERS CAN SEE THE DOOR. She isn't his intellectual equal, but she's always game for kicking him off his pedestal with fashionable heels and a scowl, and if I remember correctly she has a gun at least once. MY KIND OF LADY.

And Shibasaki Kou is impossibly pretty omg.

Though most of the time her facial expressions are reserved for questioning Yukawa's judgment and/or involvement in the human race. Seriously, it's like watching anime take over her face and arrange her features into ??!!!?? in live action.

KITAMURA KAZUKI IS TOO PIMP FOR THIS DRAMA.

Yukawa does not approve. :|

Crazy experimentation! Or, playing with lasers and monkey bars in the name of science.

Investigation!

Drama!

Frantic masturbation of the scriptwriters!

Gratuitously nude guest stars!

Yukawa's sweaty manflesh!

Confrontation of personal boundaries! oooOOOoo

And, my favorite, a relationship built on respect, trust, and lots of teeth-gnashing. My favorite part of the whole drama is when Utsumi wants to get Yukawa a date:

That about sums them up. XD
