Voice
When you're dead and gone, who do you want poking around your corpse? A specialist, perhaps? Someone dedicated? Intelligent? A seasoned professional?
How about these guys?
Voice follows a group of med students/aspiring doctors who find themselves playing detective for the bodies on their table. It's misguided and totally improbable, but hey, if we cared about things like that, we wouldn't be watching jdrama in the first place.
Trust your secrets to their hands!
DAIKI IS THE CUTEST LITTLE WEIRDO GENIUS. THE CUTEST.
The hair! The coat! Patches on his elbows! Constantly pulling his sleeves over his hands! His trademark is to question everything and pick and pick and pick until he finally solves every case in a flash of jdrama brilliance. "Why? Why?"
The funny part? I solved all the mysteries a good twenty minutes before him. If he's smart, I deserve a freaking doctorate.
Alpha girl Aki-chan. She's too cool for his eccentricity... most of the time.
One of the (many, many) cute things about Daiki is how he grills everyone on minor everyday choices and then dissects them looking for logic. "GO AWAY, DAIKI." "BUT I'M REALLY REALLY INTERESTED IN THE ORDER YOU PUT YOUR SOCKS ON!" "GO AWAY, DAIKI."
Love is in the air! And it smells like rubber gloves and preserved flesh~~
There's even some slashiness for the boy-minded fan.
Sometimes everything you need to say is already in the lyrics.
My favorite parts of Voice were the teary-eyed, overly-sentimental endings. If you've watched even one jdrama you know what I mean. Everyone's so earnest. It ranges from amusing to downright hysterical, like softly spoken musings on the nature of humanity while the camera zooms in on meaningful French toast.
HE WANTED TO TAKE THE EGGS AND MAKE A TOUCHDOWN. I want you to read this sentence over and over until it becomes funny. He wanted to take the eggs... and make a touchdown. He wanted to take the eggs... and make a touchdown.
INTERCEPTION! Sunny side up!
(Daiki is still adorable.)
Ultimately, what you'll take out of this drama? Isn't forensics or death or life's greatest mysteries. IT'S THE POWER OF AN OT5. With drunken sleepovers and poking each other and stealing food off another's plate and color-coded coats and long walks panning down a picturesque sunset. SO CUTE!
I want you to watch all their sweet, affectionate moments and think to yourself, I am watching an orgy about to happen.
