Ahem. Sorry. Now that that's done! =p I'm curious about this~ does she actually fall in love with the girl, innuendo aside??? And does she actually end up 'with' one of them?? If you say yes, this will be bumped up about 50 places on my list.
There's some ambiguity on her end (you could argue the case for her bisexuality since there's the whole thing with her teacher) but the girl courtesan is definitely in love with her, gender be damned. It's awesome to watch. Every time she crushes harder, more clothes come off. *g*
Clarify; I've never actually gotten around to one of hers. I was GOING to, but then I watched Snow Queen which had a souldestroyingly sad ending even if it was beautiful, and then Majo no Jouken which was so intense and now I want me some bunnies and rainbows.
Asano Taeko gay is just enough gay to draw ratings and milk the drama without actually daring for her LGBT characters to 1) find happiness (or god forbid, a gay relationship), 2) come out of the closet. Bitter? I'm not bitter. XD
*narrows eyes* I do NOT like the sound of that. Sheesh. I was going to watch Last Friends eventually because of my devotion to Juri but... Fail. Reminds me of Ekta Kapoor~ she controls the majority of Indian daily soaps, and they start off awesome, and then, WITHOUT FAIL, she manages to screw them up SO thoroughly it comes out unfreakingrecognisable. People die and then come back elsewhere with amnesia, sometimes with a whole new face and a revenge plan, the sweet other guys turn evil, she sets up one couple as the OTP and then some other person will come and intercept and she'll change the main guy completely. URGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHH. I HATE those kinds of sadist writers.
AUGH. That's Asano Taeko right there. She starts off strong and by the end you're banging your head against the wall. D: D: Last Friends, for example, is a great drama -- until the finale. Then everything becomes a shabby slapped-together mess with no regard for previous character development.
Noooo. I REALLY wanted Last Friends to have a good ending. Shoot. I'll probably watch it anyway eventually because it's Juri!femslash as opposed to the normal kind, but... Some people should just never be allowed near a tv again, period. *growls*
Noo, but how can you go through all that and then not see how they end up at the end?? I've only ever dropped a series I think, 3 times: Love Contract, Tokyo Juliet, Miss No Good.
Oh, you have a decent chance of liking it! I despised it, though. Devil Beside You was my first foray and I went around proclaiming him as the hottest thing alive. And then I got Love Contract and... *rude-sounding balloon deflation noise* I still think he's hot, but AAARGH that drama drove me insane!! He was supposed to be the quiet, mysterious type but to me his head was just blank - there was nothing in it! She abused him so bad and he just let her! GRRRR. Like, she thinks he stole her kendo club members so she's all mad at him. He tries to be cute and waves cute lil lollipop thingies in her - she knocks 'em out of his hand and walks away! Where's your self-respect, dude? She's such a bitch - and then she finds out it wasn't him and he's like, I told you it wasn't me and she's like yeah, that's why I wasn't mad at you. WTF, MATE?? And then alllllll her friends decided to fall in love with her and ughughughughugh. But, you may like it! Plenty of people do.
