First, I thank you all for your kind words, prayers and hugs on my last post. They were greatly appreciated. It nice to know that there are people, that while you've never actually met, do care and support you. *hugs flist back*
So, on Friday things weren't looking all that great with my father. I truly did think this might be it, but true to his Timex form, he takes a licking and keeps on ticking. He was out of ICU by Saturday afternoon, his blood pressure having been gotten under control, and the physical therapist was seeing to him and his broken big toe. He was a good bit out of it mentally, but seemed to be doing okay. Sunday he was much more together.
He was moved yesterday to a rehab hospital to get some PT for the weakness in his left leg and help with his walking. He'll be there two or three weeks. So things seem to be going okay on that front.
Today I had three wisdom teeth yanked out. Naturally the one the dentist promised would be the easiest ended up being the most difficult. The top left one decided to take a bit of bone with it. Yaya. It's a good bit sore now that the novocaine has worn off. I didn't notice it all afternoon, but then again I could barely feel my eyeballs. Yep, I had lots and lots of novocaine. My right side had to be numbed twice because he missed the nerve the first time. The bottom isn't even bothering me. The top is just a bit achy. I still have the full prescription of Vicodin from the first extraction in case it really hurts. I had to take a couple Advil that first night and nothing after that. Apparently I have a very high tolerance for pain.
I also discovered the world's best lotion at the hospital. I mean, seriously, the world's best! I borrowed the tube while I was visiting Daddy and my elbows stayed soft for days, even through several showers! It's Medline Remedy Skin Repair Cream. I was so happy to discover you can get it at Amazon (as if there was a doubt). It's expensive as hell, but I don't care if it works!
And the best thing ever, I bought tickets to see Marcus Foster back in December before Daddy went way downhill. I was going to have to give up going to see him because I had to stay home on the weekends to tend to Daddy. Now that he's someplace being taken care of so I don't have to worry about him I will be able to make the trip up to NoVa! I'm so excited! I love Marcus! YAYAY!
