Man, I totally suck.
I had every intention of going to see the 9:45am showing of Prince Caspian this morning, but I woke up around 6:30 (thanks Dash) with a headache and my knee throbbing (the weather is about to change). So I decided to snuggle down in bed for a while. Daddy was so thoughtful to wake me at 8:30 to ask me if I was still going to the movie. I opted to say in bed.
I weighed my options carefully - a 50/50 chance of seeing the TW trailer and looking at Ben Barnes for 2 hours or sleeping. Apparently we know where my priorities are :P It's not like I'm even invested in the Narnia series. The books were a good read when I was kid and the first movie was decent. I have a three day weekend coming up next weekend so I'll go see Indiana Jones on Saturday morning and Narnia on Sunday morning. Sounds like a game plan.
Also factoring into my decision not to go to the movies this morning was I got all excited at the market yesterday upon seeing an early crop of snaps (or green beans to you folks outside of the South) and got a big bag full along with small new potatoes. I meant to snap the beans last night while I looked at Robin Hood, and I totally forgot. So when I managed to drag myself out of bed at 10:30 this morning I had a huge bowl of beans to snap. They are now simmering on my stove with the new potatoes and a piece of ham hock.
I also wanted to take advantage of the delightful spring weather to actually cook a decent meal before summer gets too brutally hot to even contemplate turning on the stove. I'm making a meat roll (it's hamburger in a thick onion gravy rolled in biscuit dough and baked), the aforementioned snaps and new potatoes, oven roasted corn, and I'm going to make my father a homemade banana pudding.
