FINALLY!!!
What a weekend! Oh my! The first part of the bedroom overhaul is complete. The first major purging of stuff is done, a purge of books took place yesterday and the carpets were steam cleaned and the curtains washed. The nightstand didn't get built and is still in the living room in the box. Next weekend. One weekend at the time I guess.
As you can see, Tugar has made himself right at home.
All of my stuffed animals are in storage right now until I buy a chair for them to live in. I only kept out the Pooh Bear my mum gave me when I was a baby, Gustav and Seymour (although the frog seems to be MIA in the picture).
Check out my German X-Files movie poster!!! It rocks. The ratty Joy Division poster is a leftover from my goth days that I haven't pulled down yet because there is actually a rather large hole in the wall I'm hiding. I can't pull it down until I have some artwork that will cover it. *grins*
In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have gotten a queen size bed being as it dominates the room. I also sleep alone, well, except for the cat who now has his own side of the bed. What do I need such a big bed for? Oh well, what's done is done and I ♥ it!
The mattress is squishy and comfy and just cradles me. I had a bit of trouble sleeping last night mostly because it's a new bed and I have to get used to having a footboard (haven't had one in about 10 years) and having the bed in a different place in my room. Tonight will probably be much better.
Getting the bed up is just the first part of the major overhaul of the room so keep that in mind. I haven't put my new linens on the bed yet. I need to buy deep pocket sheets that actually fit the mattress :P I need to find something to distract from that hideous gold carpet.
And yaya! Gordon and Junior didn't make the Chase!!! Congrats Kurt Busch! I ♥ you! The Braves won and Andruw hit #48 and #49 to make the all time season homerun total by a Brave! And the Skins won their home opener! Va Tech romped Duke. What a sports weekend!!!! GO TONY STEWART!!!
