1. I think that this question really depends on the type of rebellion. A social movement needs to be organized somehow, although not neccesarily from the top down. Rebellion in terms of just pure resistance without a unified goal can certainly be unorganized. 2. I think that this does make project mayhem less legitimate because there have been plenty of decentralized nihilist and anarchist movements in history that work towards their ends of destroying hierarchy without being hierchical. A more legitimate project mayhem would be made up of equals and individuals bonded together by basic goals or points of unity. 3. I think that palahniuk uses project mayhem to show u s ourselves in our most extreme. He is taking all sorts of radical ideas amalgamating them and pushing it to a violent extreme. I think the scariest part of it is how familiarities can be found to modern life within this distopian power structure.
