So, hi to anyone new! I'm Christel, I go by Kirisame. Nice meeting you.
I've been checking this anime season little by little, so might as well give some thoughts on that.
Ano Hana (3 episodes so far)
Dunno, the teenagers seem interesting -especially the hikikomori boy, with all his traumas- but I'm not sure I can stand how annoying the ghost, Menma, is to me. I know she's mentally a little girl and I feel sorry for the poor thing but MY GOD, it goes beyond child and beyond moeblob to a whole level of fly buzzing on your ear while in bed. I feel awful for feeling this way, but she really annoys me and she happens to be the glue of the show so it's pretty hard to ignore.
Ao no Exorcist (2 episodes so far)
I also read 10 episodes of the manga to know where this was going and... I'm dropping it? It feels like a pastiche of many other shounen series (oh look, a school of exorcists, so many people are secretly a demon, how novel). Some characters are charming, but not enough to pull me in?
C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control (1 episode so far)
So selling your soul seems to be the rage lately. Middle school girl Poor college boy, make a contract get a loan and become a magical girl an Empreseur to fight witches some other dude like you, and I'll grant you your wish big bucks forever! We'll even toss a Persona for free!
Seriously, I'm not sure what the hell I just watched except that it's trippy. Or if I should check the rest.
Hyougemono (4 episodes so far)
A series about political intrigues in the Sengoku period should be kind of boring, and the series has less tea geeking shenanigans than advertised, but I felt so compelled to continue. Why? Because Sasuke has the greatest facial expressions and reactions! I don't regret spending 2 hours of this because his face is so hilarious. And wow, Oda Nobunaga is one classy magnificent bastard in this one.
Tiger and Bunny (3 episodes so far)
Misleading title is misleading! Promo art too. This is a series about superheroes in a superhero reality show, sponsors and all. Kotetsu (the titular tiger) is what probably happens to shounentards when they grow up, and he's a very charming loser protagonist for his opposing context. I don't give a fuck about Barnaby (titular bunny, kinda) so far.
Yondemasu yo Azazel-san (2 episodes so far)
Very silly. It's a parody of paranormal detectives where the most possible vulgar (yet cuddly, in an ugly way) demons get summoned to do the bidding. The humor can be nasty and gross sometimes, yet I still got a couple of laughs in some occasions.
In short, it's a really... quirky season. I'm not even sure which series are a keeper in this mess, to be perfectly honest.
Oh, and please give me more
characters because I feel like fangirling.
