BECAUSE MAMORU MIYANO IS LING. I can't get over that.
Okay, right, I've been saving up words from that "comment and I'll give you words to ramble about" meme like a squirrel. So it's time to gush.

The Legend of Zelda:
I feel like a bad fan because I only started playing them for serious after Ocarina of Time -as a matter of fact, this was my favorite video game for a long time, and it still is one of my top most loved-. I did play A Link to the Past and own it for GBA, but it didn't entirely click with me. Ever since I buy every Zelda game I can, even though I normally get stuck in stupid places and don't finish them (I think I did finish only... three Zeldas or something). But I like the gameplay a lot: the puzzles, the soft action, the weaponry. The games where the characters are fleshed out are also nice.
Peony/Jade:
I'm... sort of obsessed with this pairing right now. I'm not someone who ships too casually or for the pretty, so this means I really love their dynamics and interactions. They have a lot of things I like in ships in general: the banter and snark, the friendship, the trust, the different personalities clicking anyway, the royalty-commoner, the tsundere, the adults-in-teen/young-setting, the blond-brunet combo. But well, they're fun in both serious and funny moments. I truly love the kind of bromance friendship they share in canon.
Good Omens:
Two awesome authors = awesome book. I read this as an ebook first and ran to import it afterwards because I loved it. I'm a huge PTerry fan (soooob) and I think GNeil has a kickass imagination, so this book had to be good. And it was! It's witty, it's hilarious, it's so quotable, it has great characters, it's quite philosophical as well.
Raine Sage:
I began liking her because of
sha_chan, who RPs her in our game. I had characters who befriended Raine (and keep on doing that; my Jade now pokes her a lot and viceversa, but I digress). And one of my reasons why I fought eBay to get a copy of Tales of Symphonia was Raine. Then I got to meet the real thing and still liked her -her matureness, her geekiness- a lot. Also, she almost never leaves my party because she's the best healer ever. I like having a female healer who's not a genki/cutesy girl for once, and her heals and buffs are hardcore.
Howl/Sophie:
See, I told you I love snarky banter in my ships. This is another type of pairing I dig: the flirty foppish guy and the cool gal who doesn't take bullshit from him. So obviously I'm talking about the novel counterparts: the anime!Howl/Sophie is cute, but it's not as amusing. I love that they grew to love each other slowly and by annoying each other in daily basis; that he fell for her even if she was cursed and not looking young and pretty, that she fell for him even if he was trying too hard to look pretty. But mostly, I like that they don't change their personalities after hooking up, yet they still love each other. Oh, also, magic shenanigans FTW!

Web pages:
If I could choose a dream job, I'd be a web designer. I'm not that good at graphic design, however, I'm more average than anything. But I've always liked HTML and building the skeleton of a website little by little (and on my own, no Dreamweaver or Frontpage bullshit). And I adore CSS and the flexibility to make a page look pretty so easily. And then add PHP and javascript to code shit a little or save editing if you want to remake the layout.
Ling Yao
LOLOLOL MIYANO MAMORU /is shot I have no idea how he ended up being my favorite Fullmetal Alchemist character. Several video game later, my theory is that I'm a sucker for the annoying but funny kind of guy (Waka, Jade, Zelos, Teddie), and Ling was pretty much that at the beginning. Then he won me with the prince shenanigans, and how much he cares about his bodyguards. And even if Greed (in figurative and homunculus speaking) is strong with this one, he's still himself and has a strong, proud will.
Tales of the Abyss:
I joke a lot that the reason I'm loving it so much is because I'm substituting Tsubasa with this /shot. (Well, it does have CLONES and FATE as plot keywords?) Well, I don't know, I never thought I'd like this game but then I grew ridiculously attached to the main characters -I still feel the need to hit Luke and Asch repeatedly in some parts but... yeah. I grew attached to the world as well, to the countries, to the cities and landscapes (not you, Meggiora highlands), and did want to save it and turn over the Score. Besides, it's my kind of button mashing. I don't regret chipping my PS2 to play this.
CLAMP
...I'm in a Losing My Religion kind of period with CLAMP here, so I pass for now.
Caparashon
In-joke of mine. Misspelling of caparazón (shell, as in a turtle's). I get the nagging feeling that the origin of this comes from a Les Luthiers song, La Princesa y El Oso, mixed up with Evangelion's Hedgehog's Dilemma. I'm extremely shy and sensitive, so when I feel ignored by people I close up myself and step back, something like a turtle retracting to its shell. Besides, I do like turtles, but that's another word I was given so...
sha_chan gave me
Turtles:
LIKE I WAS SAYING. I totally believe that my totem animal should be a turtle, for the reasons explained above. Besides, I like them a lot, when they're not butt-ugly. When I was little I had several of
these yet while I liked looking at them I was never responsible enough to get attached to them. My kindergarten had a
morrocoy, too. But the turtles I like the most are sea turtles, especially green turtles.
Badass colonels:
I can has tag. I believe that the title of Colonel makes you a badass motherfucker by default, especially when you're the important adult in the main cast. Examples are one Roy Mustang and one Jade Curtiss. Do not plan against them, as their strategists. Do not piss them off, as it'll get scary. Do not kill or attempt to kill their BFFs unless you want to get fried.
...Shit, did I just give myself a plotbunny?
Ace Attorney:
How I ended up loving this series, it still eludes me. I normally prefer my games to be fantasy, but the quirky characters and Edgeworth finally lowering his emo, my God and the comedy helped. But the series has made me cry as well. I avoid the fandom like the plague, though. Also, I'm more fond of the Apollo Justice cast so that means I'm a heretic.
Sparkly blond(e)s:
Okay, this is a term we came up in our RP. We mean sparkly in a shiny, happy way, not... vampires-from-Twilight sparkly. (Although depending of the canon, I know of blond(e)s who do sparkle :P) We have a share of characters who act happily (or pretend to: Fay from before Acid Tokyo would qualify), make lots of friends, spam threads, sometimes flirt around, are attention whores, and are quite the extroverts. And well, there was a point where most of them were blond guys. So we started joking about this subtype. I do dig this trope and find them fun to play with or against. Also, several of my favorite game characters are sparkly blonds (Waka, Klavier, Teddie ttly counts) in a very bizarre fashion. Of course, I also like them in other media; Tamaki would be the perfect example.
(Howl Jenkins, although not the happiest guy, is an honorary sparkly blond.)
Snarky pairings:
HERE IT IS AGAIN. I want to blame Han/Leia or cartoon!Zelda/Link for this, but I wonder if there's an older instance. I've always liked this kind of pairings the most. I do have my fluffy sweet couples who get along nicely, but I love banter and bickering and the UST that might spark from that. It can be witty, it can be funny. It's not quite slap-slap-kiss since some of my snarky OTPs like each other somehow yet they clash anyway. I also like non-shippy relationships that are snarky, for the record, like relatives or friends I don't see together. I don't know, personal preference and all.
I still have two sets to do. Will go with that tonight or tomorrow.
