Yay! Kino no Tabi is one of my favourite series. Too bad the fandom is so small =( And too bad they'll probably never get around to releasing the translated novels *sigh*

I'm fine without the fandom after seeing what happens with other traveler series (that is, they ship the traveler with the one or two recurrent characters, no matter if they have enough chemistry or not; I mean sure, Shizu/Kino has potential, but we barely know the guy in the anime. I heard his own travels have more spotlight in the novels). I do wish there were more fans in general, yeah. It's just awesome ♥
