You can tell I don't want to work...

How it works:
1. Ask me one fandom-related question in the comments. This can be fandom specific, general, or about fandom/lj stuff/fic writing/etc. in general. Any fandom of mine.
2. Just one question, please, but it can (and perhaps should) have sub-parts. (Nah, ask what you want.)
3. That's it. It can be as normal or odd as you like.

How do you think Clow & company compare to Eriol and company, in your opinion? And, do Clow & his derivative(s) just really like magically creating stuffed-toy animals WAY too much? ;P

Define derivative(s). I have "derivatives" as the group of creatures, descendants, alter versions, and reincarnations; so basically anyone sharing a piece of magic or DNA from Teh Clowz is valid. Therefore, the answer is no, as only Classic Coca-cola and the tiny can of Coke have developed an interest in creating pretty creatures, plushie-looking or not.

I think Clow just likes cute, fat animals to hug, squeeze, and call them George (well, not George, but he still names them.) Eriol got the half with that trait. Guardians and Mokonas are better than real animals as in they wouldn't die from overfeeding and can talk back at you.

About the comparison, you'll have to be a bit more specific as I could make a fatass, post-worthy rant on every aspect. So tell me what you want to hear or it'll be long. Also, do you consider Yuuko + Mokonas as a temporary part of the Clow-tachi? How about Kaho in the Eriol-tachi?

Good answer. I was mostly joking with that question. ;)

(a) Rant away: Clow-tachi versus Eriol-tachi. (b) Yes to Yuuko, Mokonas, & Kaho. :P

But... D: You still haven't answered me: versus in what sense? In a fight-to-death situation if it was even physically possible? In a magic duel? In a cooking battle? Participating in a variety contest on a TV show?

Or do you just want a biased spot-the-differences kinda thing or something? You lost me.

I don't think I'm anything like Drosselmeyer; I enjoy comedy and silliness too much, and I like my characters to be somehow fine or to enjoy in my plots sometimes. It doesn't mean I don't prepare shit for them when I'm doing original fic, but it isn't for tragedy or angst's sake. It's just to put them in the place where they should be, and I like to think they go on with their lives afterwards (I don't believe in pure happy endings, but in as-happy-as-they-can-be endings)

I'm probably more like Fakir in the fact I rack my brains too much before starting stuff; then it tends to go smoother -unless I get a writer's block. I don't ask the characters to do the impossible, not even when they're major Sues/Stus; things should never be that easy. However, I'm myself, and I'm not sure I have anything in common with him besides that (then again, I watched that anime in like two days and I almost forgot what's his style like, if he even has one)

One Piece starts kinda slow, but the more you read and the more nakama are introduced, the more hooked you get. This manga won in the fact it's one of the few series that made me laugh AND cry at the same time. You wouldn't believe a story about batshit crazy pirates could be so moving, and yet... The characters are pretty cool, even though the amount of rivals/enemies entering and exiting is a bit overwhelming (I have to learn gazillion names again? D: Damn you, shounen mangas), almost in a Kubo kind of way -except way better written, of course.

So I'm glad you pushed me towards it, even if the first couple of volumes and the length turned me off a lot. I needed more smart shounen to follow these days. As soon was I get the work do tomorrow off me, I'll be finishing Skypiea.
