My oh my, what a fun night. I went to the drag ball. I always hated dances in high school. I always felt so awkward at them. It all started out the same way this time, but didn't end that way. I confessed my hopeless-awkward-shyness to a friend of a friend named Kate. After that, we went to the dance floor.
“I don’t know how to dance,” I stammered.
“just flail” she said.
Haha, well, so I did! I got looser, and had a BALST! It was awesome fun! Me, Kate, and Dayton kinda danced in a lil circle for a lot of the time. I didn't feel too stupid earthier; nobody there seemed judgemental :) So, I just, enjoyed myself.
Oh. And not to mention, there was a HILAIOUS drag show. Very cool.
After the dance was over, Me and Kate headed over to meet Nick and Lydia at No Shame Theater. I would say that was a dollar well spent. Very original place/activity/entertainment; heh.
When that was over around 12:30, I decided to try and meet up again with some people I knew from GLBTAU. I headed out to Studio 13. I did run into a few people there, but no one I really knew well. Still, it was an experience. It was my first time in a bar. It was very unusual to me. Left me kind of… weirded out I guess. Hrmm. Still, I’m glad I went though. Plus, I think I got over my tentativeness to dance in public, which is good.
Hrmm… new experiences galore.
