*emerges like a ninja in a cloud of twinkly purple smoke*

Escapology For Dummies from the Klainetana cycle. I wanted to get it finished before season three started and technically I succeeded! More in this arc will depend on how canon pans out season three, but I would like to write one more for the summer between seasons <3 ( Read more... )

santana, kurt/blaine, glee, klainetana, fluff

I read this, went to get coffee and couldn't stop the words "dead French Rachel" from snickering around my brain. So now back from coffee and feel I owe you more comment than just "my brain snickers at dead French Rachel"

My brain also snickers at: "He does leadership, I make two dozen giant papier mache mushrooms." (although brain also goes a bit sad at that too...)

I love seeing their relationship through the mirror of Santana, but also they way they reflect on themselves, like the first time they met when Kurt sing-songs "rockstars" and you write that like we can all see the way he rolls his eyes fondly and nostalgically as he says it.

But my absolute favourite bit that fits my headcanon like a bespoke thing is:

"Ain't your property, Hummel."

"It damn well is, let go of his foot." Kurt kicks at her

Because this is just it as far as I'm concerned. Kurt's got what he wanted and he's hanging onto it because he's always known what he's deserved and he had to wait so damn long for him - of course he's going to go round scenting on him like an animal to ensure the other boys and girls stay away. I can so see Blaine in a "Property of Hummel" t-shirt.

It actually took a lot of self-discipline on my part to read it again and push the boys into the background and read from Santana's point of view. You've got such a great handle on her - she's prickly and hurt but she's got this unexpected template in Kurt of someone who didn't entirely expect to get just what he want... but he did and if Hummel can do it then Lopez certainly can too. I like that you make someone like Kurt a role model for someone like Santana becuase it shouldn't work, but it really, really does.
Have fun tonight - I might rewatch for fun - and I'd love to see your blanket fort thoughts after

I had the 'dead French Rachel' revelation while writing, and then had to stop for a moment. Edith Piaf, I *love* you, but it's so true ;_;

Oh god I *bet* Kurt takes the 'my' part of 'my boyfriend' very literally. Why would he *possibly* want to let him go? I can see him fighting tooth and nail and terrifyingly to keep Blaine from all comers, and to protect his feet from molestation. Especially from Santana ^^;

Oh god #2 having seen the episode, btw, Santana ;_; I *so* need this friendship this season, because she needs it. This OT3 will rock the school. Because Kurt *has* got what he wanted and got it through honesty and bravery and being fierce, so Santana can do it too, and she *should*. (Fuck you Will Schuester rargh)

So, thank you for reading it! Glad you liked it, honey, as always =)

I was commenting before you saw the ep and so I had to really, really restrain myself for congratulating you on how prescient you were.
I tried to word it in a non-spoiler way three or four times but gave up and deleted it. But yeah, I was delighted how close to on-screen relationship you got this.
I really hope they keep Kurt with the upper hand in the relationship and teasing his boyf just the right amount while Blaine keeps following him anywhere.
I honestly thought you must have sneaked a peak at how they were now writing the characters and then so neatly extrapolated onto that.

And totally agree on Santana being able to match Kurt for honesty, bravery and fierceness. She's got the fierceness in spades, and as soon as she can find a way to dial up the honesty and bravery she'll rule the school again (and for good, not for evil)

I'm always excited to see when you post. You're one of the top-two must read when I see them people which tend to mean I read at work when I don't have a lot of space to spread out my arms and twirl delighted while I comment... which is why I still owe you thoughts on Fix, Fix sequel and the littlest not-knight goes a-rescuing.
I printed out Fix and took it with me on our Sussex jaunt and it was the perfect thing to dip in and out of on an evening when my brain was missing the fandom stimulation since we couldn't get online.

I spent that episode SO ANGRY at Will. Like, seriously, you're a *teacher*? You're less mature than every last one of your students, and *seriously* that is saying something. And Santanaaaaa ;_;

I am so, so happy with their relationship though, that they are so comfortable that Kurt can do the 'passive aggressive' thing without actually meaning it at all and they just - understand each other, and are as adorable together as a puppy hugging a kitten. Literally. And it's clearly been *such* a good summer for Blaine, he's just bloomed, it's like he's finally slid into the fact that he can be exactly who he wants to be because look, Kurt does it every day, and now he's all - vibrant and dorky and adorable. I just. The two of them. Just. I lose coherency, guh.

And I'm glad if you've been enjoying the fic, and if it's been good for travel-reading =) Thank you honey, and welcome back to fandom, woo! ^^
