Christmas
Christmas was OK. My family came over Xmas eve and we had hot chocolate, egg nog and yummy treats while we decorated the tree.The kids opened their presents from my parents and my brothers. The neighbour upstairs brought down a present for Sky and Lex along with a yummy home made lemon merinque pie...Mmmm. When the kids were all settled in bed, we busted out the "adult" drinks and got our traditional holiday game of risk going. I think I enjoyed Christmas eve a lot better than I did Xmas day. The kids would have been content if all they got were the presents from my family.
The kids got a ton of presents, of course. Too many, IMO. Playdough, instruments, add-ons to their Thomas train set and aquadoodle, K'nex, and Kaiden got about 5 different sets of blocks. I really want to do a buy nothing Christmas/holiday next year and make the kids meaningful gifts, but I doubt I'll be able to convince Mark that it's a good idea.
