Long Beach has pretty lamps. Taken using a Sony DSC-HX1, no edits (wow, that's a first).
We went there to celebrate my grandma's 81st birthday. Going to Long Beach is a tradition established when my dad was young, and they've been going there since then. I remember going Long Beach every year since primary school, too. We always get a private room (there's 12 people), and always order the same dishes, too - bamboo clams steamed with garlic for appetisers, fresh oysters with lemon juice, crispy chicken, grilled fish, noodles, black pepper crab and Peking duck.
There were lots of laughter and jokes. Funny remarks such as, Only the water has maintained its quality and Does the restaurant keep pet cockroaches? kept coming up. It's nice to have a family gathering every now and then. The quality of food at Long Beach certainly has deproved, while its prices keep rising; but tradition is tradition, and reminiscing about old times in a restaurant where even the manager knows the family heads (AKA my dad and uncle) personally is a lot of fun.
I can has new dolly~ The deal is that I get 3As, my dad buys a doll or its equivalent. Currently, it's a two-way tussle between Soom Pyrol/Minette and the Volks sofa.
Without seeing the full photo release from Soom, I'm quite sure I don't need a baby pony, no matter how adorable it would be to see him piggy-backing the triplets. Besides, when I think of the Volks sofa, I rather have a gorgeous piece of furniture the crew can lounge on than another doll. Frankly speaking, I prefer the triplets as humans (although their fantasy parts are cool!), so what would I do with a pony prancing around? The novelty factor of fantasy parts wears off after a while, and what remains is whether or not I like the face sculpt.
Plus, that Volks sofa is truely the most magnificent piece of doll furniture I've seen. :3 I want to clear out a shelf in the hallway outside my room - which never gets any direct sunlight - and have a dolly-shelf of sorts. Currently, the shelf has all my bags squatting on it, so I'll have to find somewhere else to keep them. Then I'll place Sofa-san there, and Reiko and one of the triplets (reaed: whoever's on the body) can sit on it. Mr. Williams and Mr. Featherstonehaugh can join them after they arrive and be all manly and guard the sofa waaaaaaaaaaaaaah ♥. Then I'll drape some lace curtains at the back and front of the doll-shelf to act as a backdrop and cover the shelf respectively, since my mum doesn't like looking at them at night. Then perhaps I can move my lazy ass off and clear out a second shelf, below the dolly-shelf, where the doll boxes will go, of which there are five right now (Luts SDF, KDF, Soomie x2, airtight) where all their random crap goes into. So all the dolly stuff will be moved onto that shelf. :D
