Well, the horror of my one midterm is over, I can now have one day of undisturbed vacation. Actually, Tuesday and Wednesday were pretty undisturbed too, since I'm too much of a slacker to actually study for more than five minutes...

My parents went and talked to the contractor/builder people about our house again today. We're going to have to get our kitchen knocked down fairly soon or else it's going to pull the rest of our house down with it (next time you're in my house have a look at the wall that faces the woods and Juniper Manor, it ain't pretty) so they wanted to add onto our house at the same time since there would be construction going on anyway. Then today the people said that the add-on stuff would be like $300 per square foot, which is, ahem, a little over what we can pay (without selling me into slavery at any rate)

For your amusement, today's quote is from a part in the book I'm currently reading (The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay) in which the protagonists are attempting (successfully) to distract the enemy leader:

" "I throb, I yearn, I die. Oh, Nino, come to me with the short sword of your loins!"
The short sword? "
