This is slightly delayed news; because the new iPod 5th Gen. came out a few days ago; but for those who DON'T know it yet, I'll show !

Do you know if they got rid of the "shake the device to shuffle songs" thing? I hate that feature and that's why I didn't get a new ipod nano but got a different brand.

Nope ! It's always there. It's been on there ever since the Shuffle, actually. On the iPod Touch, on the iPhone, on the iPod Chromatic, and now this... I admit, it IS really annoying ! Especially when I'm jogging or something, and it moves (not because I /want/ it to). . . And it changes the song in the middle of a good part. GUH. But I'm pretty sure there's a function somewhere in Settings, where you can turn that off. I know you can with the iPhone. . .
