This *still* doesn't make me a kitty!mama
We found a kitty for Younger Son. One of our patients at the clinic (who also lives about 2 miles up the road from me), rivals enchanted_jae for the number of cats roaming the place. (LOL He's also got a cat house!) When he was at the clinic on Friday he told me to bring Younger Son by because he had some kitties that were ready for a new home. We went to take a look Friday evening, and one was chosen, but we didn't bring it home because we were going out of town for the weekend.
We picked the kitty up yesterday evening on our way home. *sigh* No pictures yet because she's a bit freaked out at the new surroundings and mainly stays under Older Son's bed, only coming out for necessities. She's solid black (really, not a speck of white on her anywhere) and absolutely adorable. Younger Son decided to keep the name she'd already been given. LOL Her name is Short Fuse because she always gives a small yowl when you pick her up. Apparently she's got a bit of a temper. :D I have a feeling, though, that most times she'll just be called Shorty.
On the down side, Pete is not impressed. He's taken to occasionally hissing at Younger Son and so far ignores Shorty completely. Shorty is not too keen on Pete either. On the few occasions that she's come out from under Older Son's bed, she refuses to enter a room where Pete is. *sigh* Hopefully they'll work it out between the two of them.
We did manage to get a photo. It's kind of blurry because she wasn't thrilled with the idea of being held this morning and wouldn't hold still for the photo. Her eyes went green in the photo because of the flash, but they're actually brown. (Apparently my photo editing program is great for red-eye, but not so much on green-eye.)
