rofl bbq etc etc. Really though. Trolls, serial adders, 'irony' in the LJ arena...it's a bit 2004. Tips!

* Check your DOB and potential email DOB.
* Lyrics and memes are old hat.
* Paedophilia and statutory, overdone.
* Race issues are old skool and not in the cool way.
* Don't make the next post on abortion because it will *yawn*.
* Lolzzz etc is over with. Check contemporary dialogues for more current discourse. Others would also awtc for example.

In summary; If you are aiming for a caricature then you need to brush up on what is actually ironic. For some reason the vibe has altered since last year. Secondly, if you're looking to merely inflame...post pictures of skin diseases or something.

Gah, too easy. People get so defensive about their fake internet persona. Forever the ranting and raving after somebody points out the 'deficiencies', because nobody likes a smarty pants do they? I should have added the other tip:

* Don't react to the person playing the smart ass.

PS. It's r0x0r, not roxor.

Hmm. So, instead of defending yourself you abstract yourself from the situation, apparently seeking to position yourself outside or above it, as though you don't need to reply to it. You're too good for it... Well, if I'm defensive, then you're evasive.

PS. Did you know that the seahorse is the slowest fish in the sea?

OMG a seahorse isn't a fish at all, It's a horse.

Myths say that horses that jumped off cliffs into the sea were doomed and forced to become creatures of the sea.

Holy christ it thinks! Defending myself from...? 'Situation'? Above/outside of...? Reply to? Evasive? Sense plz? It's not a reaction IT'S SOMETHING SPONTANEOUS AND CALLED WIT.

Actually I'm not really asking you anything at all. I fear a jumble of words in response that have the gloss of something bright but...your brain-meats-thinking appears to be functioning, just not very well.

"i deserve to be executed for my crimes against trendy elitism and cultural-subversion!"

If you didn't understand the sarcasm, I was attempting to point out (I'm sure you'll suggest that I failed) that you appear to be....

Blah, let's just say I dislike iconoclasts who fancy themselves to epitomize wit and other such "intellectual" attributes etc etc. Also I thought it amusing that cultural-subversion (in this case, the mocking of livejournals), which, by definition, is anti-popular/anti-trendy, had taken on trends of its own, eg you pointing out that I had missed the livejournal-irony-trend. It struck me as, what's that word.. ? Oh: ironic.

Ahahahahaha.. Even that's been said and done over and over again. OMG the irony of irony of irony, so ironic. Oh no I look SOSTUPID.

I'll make this painfully clear; I really don't care if you choose this cute experiment. It's just amusing to watch someone try so hard and then blow it in the blink of an eye explain themselves so quickly. Meh, interest now gone...good work, keep it up, A++++.

If everything's said and done, why are you saying anything at all? Why did you consistantly reply to rainhailorsmile alluding that you were soooo smart and knew the little secret?

rainhailorsmile March 24 2005, 09:56:18 UTC
Haha at first glance I didn't realise you once again didn't reply to what I'm actually saying.

All banter aside, I'm sincerely curious what your thoughts are. Or if you'll actually address them...

You're still overusing hyphens and ellipses. Even worse is your use of '..' which is neither full stop nor ellipsis.

Nooo!

The double full-stop is a wonderful innovation in creative punctuation. Neither ellipsis nor full-stop, it's some weird liminal creature that marks the uncertainty with which some trains of thought are ended. It's totally appropriate for online conversations, because they're neither formal letter-type exchanges nor in-person chat, so you need more punctuation and other non-word signs (like emoticons, sarcasm marks and action marks) to convey your meaning.

How is hir use of the double full stop in this case adding to meaning?

It struck me as, what's that word.. ? Oh: ironic.

Gives the impression of an """ironic""" dramatic pause, much like you'd hear in regular conversation.
