Work stuff.
They've started to demolish the old offices we used to work from, just across the street. They've pretty much ripped the back out of it so far, so it's a little disconcerting to thing that the area I used to work in is now a pile of rubble several feet below where it used to be!
Also had an appraisal checkpoint meeting at work. Managed to tick a darned sight more of the boxes than I did this time last year (which back then resulted in some 'conflict' with my previous boss). That, and one 'keep this one up', is all good. And I also had a chat about getting my hands on some more technical stuff; up to now it's mostly slipped down into more 'functional' work rather than hacking about with unix and windows boxes. I suggested that this is where I wanted to steer my career a bit more, and it turns out a few of the people I work with have also been 'dropping hints' (I've been aware of this, too) about it. And the timescale of this should be, oh, about 2-3 months.
Sounds good to me.
