I think faith is not confidence. I think being faithful is being trusty. Being effective. Semper fidelis. A mountain will not throw itself into the sea if you're really really really confident that it will. It will only do so if affective action occurs. Within the even smallest effective act lies all the power in the universe, because it is a True act, and any amount of Truth expresses eternity ( ... )

In the new living translation, the first line of Hebrews 11 reads: "1 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see."

Yes, being faithful is being trusty, but also, being faithfull and loyal to God is trusting in God, which is having confidence in God. For example:

"5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
