Media Overload

My keyboard is full of dust and sandwich crumbs. How did I not notice this in Lexington? Everything of mine seems dirtier as soon as I bring it home.

I just finished hooking up my computer on my old school desk that I never once used to do homework in grade school and set my tv up not two feet away from the monitor and sadly I imagine I will remain perched here for the majority of the day. Apparently, it's Britney Spears Day on VH1. Something seems so wrong about having the internet and tv together in such close proximity. I'm afraid that if I leave they will breed and create some new terrifyingly distracting offspring.

Summer's been very relaxing so far and for the most part very predictable - all events in Lexington excluded. My sister brought home a 10 wk. old doberman puppy who in one week's time has already ecclipsed my 10 month old Welsh terrier in size, poundage, and willingness to cuddle. Basically I wake up every morning at 11:30 after a couple of hours of thinking about getting out of bed then go downstairs and sit with the baby dobe (named Huckleberry) sleeping in my lap while my dad takes a shower. After that, I run 4-5 miles, read, shower (maybe, gross), and diddle around until my mom and sister come home and we all sit out on the deck drinking cocktails and watching the dogs chew on each other until dinnertime. After dinner, 4 mile walk with mom, more diddling in the form of books and tv until I reluctantly fall asleep with a cat on my face around 2. Rinse. Repeat.

Lexington was fun for certain. I finished my second year judging for the State Foreign Language Festival and it was chaos as usual. Came home and packed for six hours, then prepared for Prom 2005 where I remained until around 6 in the morning. Sunday my parents came and helped me move all my stuff out and now all that remains is my matress still covered with filthy sheets up against the wall and a few empty pieces of furniture. This weekend I'll be headed down to Alabama to escort my sister to her friends' wedding then back to Lexington the week after that.
