The perfect quote (from one of the people who answered): "I have a ton of books that I haven't had a chance to read yet, that I've bought. There is no way I can keep up with reading all the books that strike my fancy, but that rarely stops me from buying them."
TEN Books I Absolutely Had to Have But Still Haven’t Read (as a note, series and trilogies are considered only one book. That's how many I have...)
1. "Seeing Redd"/"ArchEnemy" by Frank Beddor - I had read and LOVED "The Looking Glass Wars", so I bought the two others in the series (and also the "Hatter M" comic book spinoff series, because Hatter Madigan is my favorite character of the series), but have yet to read them.
2. "Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade" by Oliver Bowden - Obviously being obsessed with Assassin's Creed, I feel the need to own everything related to it. This book is actually all about Altaïr, whom I LOVE, so... why haven't I read it, yet?
3. "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke - I loved the movie. I love Paul Bettany. I love Dustfinger. I bought the book. I want the other two in the trilogy. I just... Haven't read it, yet.
4. "Bloodshot"/"Hell Bent" by Cherie Priest - I met Cherie Priest. At the time, "Bloodshot" was coming out. She was selling them early at the Meet & Greet, and I bought it and got it signed. "Hell Bent" recently was released, and I bought it on principle, alone. Still have yet to read them.
5. "Boneshaker"/"Dreadnought" by Cherie Priest - The reason we knew Cherie Priest and went to her Meet & Greet. I actually bought the books for Thad, who deeply enjoyed them. He's given them good reviews, so, eventually, I'll read them.
6. "The Red Pyramid"/"The Throne of Fire" by Rick Riordan - The books are Egyptian-based AND contain the Egyptian God Seth! How the hell have I not read these, yet?!?
7. "Leviathan"/"Behemoth"/"Goliath" by Scott Westerfeld - I AM ACTUALLY CURRENTLY READING "LEVIATHAN"!!! Finally. Thad's all excited about that, because he's read them, and now we can talk about them. Heh. I still have a long way to go, though. I think I'm only on the 10th chapter, and I haven't touched it in a week. Oops...
8. "The Anubis Gates" by Tim Powers - Time Travel and Egypt. My drum instructor's wife absolutely loves and recommends it, and I recently saw it at the bookstore, so I bought it.
9. Um...
10. Um... Maybe I shouldn't have paired up series and trilogies. *snickersnorts*
On another note, after... 4-ish years, I finally got my copy of "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman back from Tammy, who had borrowed it. I've read all of his books, and most of them (apart from American Gods, which I've re-read so many freaking times), I only remember specific scenes (unless I force myself to think about it, then it all comes back to me). When
herecirm came to visit me, she got me an Underground shotglass, which, at the time, though awesometastic, I didn't catch the reference. And when I asked (boy, did I feel stupid ^_^;; But I think I was still in YaySarisHere!! mode.) and she said "Neverwhere", it all came flooding back. And, since then, I've wanted to reread my copy of "Neverwhere", but couldn't find it. I asked Tammy if she still had it, and she said yes. I finally got it back on Monday. Yay! XD
