Day 02 -Scene/Role that made you fall in love with him first
I'm down in my cold basement sitting underneath my blanket on the couch watching Doctor Who for the very first time; open minded and ready to experience what so many had said was the greatest story ever told. Rose Tyler, a character I had heard so much about asks him "really Doctor, who are you?" and with small knowing smile says:
"Do you know like we were sayin'? About the Earth revolving? It's like when you're a kid. The first time they tell you that the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it 'cause everything looks like it's standin' still. I can feel it. The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinnin' at 1,000 miles an hour and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're fallin' through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go...That's who I am."
In a solitary moment, the world around me slowed to a crawl and I could hear my pulse inside my throat loud and clear. Something was happening, something I hadn't felt in years. All of my critical thinking about plots, character development and anything else I could use to deconstruct the scene was blown out of my head as I was just basking in the feeling of watching story telling for the pure emotional aspect. Nothing could've prepared myself for something as poignant as this and for the first time in a long time I had fully fallen in love with a TV series. It was in that moment where nothing would ever be the same again and that there was no going back for me.
And it was also in this scene where I found that this Christopher Eccleston had something irresistibly magnetic about him. It was in the way he moved, the way he spoke and how his eyes seemed to express the indescribable. There was something so intriguing about him, this actor who I had so little knowledge of and who I was more than ready to read up on. When I had finished my heartbroken sobs over the Ninth Doctor's death, I wanted to find a place to sing my praises for this man's amazing performance. I found that place on Tumblr and not soon after that I arrived here on Livejournal and forged some of the strongest bonds I've ever had with people online.
This is what made me fall in love with Christopher Eccleston and I can't wait to see what he's going to do next!
