I just finished rewatching Firefly & Serenity and oh man, so much LOVE. I fall harder and harder for the show with every viewing (though I almost couldn't bear watching, "I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar," because, YOU KNOW) and I am now shipping Mal/Inara harder than ever. I'm trying to find some decent Mal/Inara fics that are not overly saccharine and keep the bantery tension/longing/awkwardness between the two of them but it's a hard balance to capture (or I'm looking not looking in the right places). I also finished the rewatch just in time to appreciate
Pajiba's ode to Firefly. I still can't get over the fact that Zac Efron played young Simon Tam and Robin Scorpio played the whore that screwed everyone over. Robin Scorpio does not do that sort of thing! (Sidenote: the stupidity of this blog "war" makes me want to stab things.)
My Nathan Fillion love is at an all time high because I also watched Waitress this weekend. There were a lot of Mal mannerisms to his character that I couldn't help but love him and the movie in general was adorable. The final song in the movie has been stuck in my head for the past several days which probably means I should go download it.

Fics that I've enjoyed recently:
"One Yu Bun Duh Planet" by
ana-grrl (Firefly/BSG). It's Jayne and Helo against the cylons and can be summed up as: Jayne hates this stupid planet and its stupid gorram robots.
"A Hunting on Pennsylvania Avenue" by
chaletian (SPN/TWW). It's a WIP that will probably never be completed, but it's Sam & Dean trying to get rid of a ghost at the White House(!!!). I don't think it gets any better than that.
"Outrageous Fortunes" by Corinna (Slings & Arrows). It's post-s1, Jack/Kate where Kate finds her way back to the theatre. I just attended a performance at Stratford when I found this fic and was reliving my S&A love.

I know Obama has a greater chance of winning the election, but I'm sort of heartbroken that Hillary Clinton didn't get the nomination.

Bonus linkage:
Jack Cox (from Scrubs) being absolutely ADORABLE, including head banging to metal music. I love this exchange:
Jack: Your skin is wrinkly.
Dr. Kelso: Yeah, well that shirt you're wearing is gay.
Oh Bob Kelso, you're still made of win.
