I am basically fucking DOOMED for my finals, but let's block out real life, shall we?
I've been really into crossovers lately, so here are two recs from TWW AU Ficathon:
- Brand New Stars by littleloonlost. TWW/Firefly. Absolutely perfect.
"The Alliance is dead in the sky," Toby says. "Ever since your broadcast, we've been thinking about what comes next."
"Democracy." Josh says the word just the way Kaylee says: strawberries. It almost makes Mal feel something.
- 14 People in a Hospital Room by tam_cranver. TWW/House, where the Bartlet administration is part of Hollywood and there's a Laurie/Cuddy(!) reference.
I recently got a shiny new mp3 player. I've been debating about whether to get an ipod or to go against the trend and purchase another brand for months, but my dad decided for me. Thanks, pops! I am now the owner of a ZEN MicroPhoto (4GB). The touchpad is a bit sensitive so it takes some getting used to, but I'm enjoying it so far.
You know what's been keeping me sane for the past several days? Listening to Explosions in the Sky (from NPR, live in Washington, DC) while I study. It's soothing, melancholy, hopeful, and a bunch of other adjectives, all bundled up together. I only have the non-live versions of 'Remember Me as a Time of the Day' and 'Your Hand in Mine,' so if anyone has other songs and are willing to upload them for me, that would be fantastic.
