To be honest, the episode was less angst-y than I expected it to be. It may be because I watched the promo and teaser excessively, and both were very angst-filled, so I need to cut back on that this week.
A lot happened in this ep. They tackled the "rape" storyline very quickly and while I felt it was slightly rushed, it was executed nicely. I like that they showed the story from the perspective of different characters because it doesn't really give the truth to the whole story, but we got the gist of it. I had a feeling the writers were going to create a grey area of what led up to event, and I love them for it. There isn't one specific person that Veronica can blame the "rape" on, because it was a combination of people being jackasses to two people, both drugged, giving mutual "consent" to each other, even if Veronica can't remember it.
While I don't think Duncan and Veronica are siblings, I love that they had possible incestuous sex. It's so wrong, but so hot. "So I'm a murderer and a rapist?" Bwah! Oh Duncan, you were bringing on the funnies in this ep. I think I love non-medicatedandbatshitcrazy!Duncan. Duncan putting a huge dent in his car while Meg was yelling at him? I cracked up every time. But seriously, the scene between Duncan and Veronica in front of the Kane mansion was painful and lovely. Poor Duncan, admitting that he still loves Veronica and then finding out that she's dating his best friend. (Although I loved every conflicting minute of it. I get giddy when I read fics where Duncan accidentally discovers Logan and Veronica together. The angst!)
Wallace + Veronica = best friends forever and everrrrr!!! I love that she came to him after her breakdown, and that she finally opened up to him. It really shows how much Veronica has come along with trusting others, and how much Wallace puts his trust in Veronica when he does favours for her with no explanation needed. I love them.
As with Logan and Veronica, I was torn between wanting to roll my eyes at his cheesy lines or squealing like a fangirl. Obviously, the fangirl within me crushed my cynical side to a pulp. So SQUEEEEE!!! After reading around, I agree that Logan probably knew about the cameras in the pool house and he and Lilly did put it to good use. However, I don't think that Logan was planning to use the cameras to film him and Veronica together. He held her hand in front of all his 09-er friends and proclaimed that if anyone had a problem with Veronica, they could leave his house and his life. I really don't think that after all that, he's only using Veronica to embarrass her. Anyway, the equipment wasn't on because when Veronica went to check it out, she had to turn on the power. The cut of her leaving the house was abrupt so I don't think she ditched Logan immediately to leave with Weevil. And if she did, she probably had to check up on a clue from Lilly's case that she just recalled, rather than being upset about the camera itself.
As for the clue, it has something to do with the vent in the promo (as discussed by Jen and I after analyzing it.) We know that Lilly learned to hide things in vents from Logan, so Lilly might have stashed some important stuff in a vent (where? I'm pretty sure Veronica is well recognized in the Kane mansion, even if she dresses up like a servant), and Veronica's agenda is to find out what it is.
That's it for now. I have to go get ready for J.J. Wednesday night.
