Three random things
1) There's this fic on ajmacfic that's been in progress for... oh, I don't know, a year now? It started out as a round-robin, and then it got completely ridiculous. It doesn't even remotely resemble JAG anymore. (I dropped out of the round-robin after a really bad rape and torture scene that hadn't been labeled with a warning.) I skimmed the beginning of the last chapter that was posted, and... dude. The only name I recognized was Sarah. Is it even an AJ/Mac fic anymore? *sigh*
2) I watched Ray tonight. It's a really good movie. I'm sure that my family was annoyed by my squeeing over the actors I recognized, though. "Dude! That's David Krumholtz with a lot of product in his hair! Is that Richard Schiff? It is! Man, that hairpiece is so bad. Hey, it's Papa Chase from House!" (Okay, so I don't know the name of the actor who played Rowan Chase.)
3) I don't mind author's notes. They can be helpful sometimes. But it's really annoying when the author's like, "Look what I did! See how I connected these scenes together? I'm such a clever, clever writer!" I just want to say, "Look, lady, if you're such a good writer, then can't you let your writing stand for itself? I'm the first to say yay for foreshadowing, but you really don't need to whack your readers over the head with a Theme Mallet (TM whoever does the 7th Heaven recaps on TWoP).
3b) I use the word "really" a lot, don't, I?
