fun in the sun

Today has been a pretty quiet day.  My practice was sucky earlier because I am once again having reed issues.  However, yesterday was a completely different story and I must say that I had one of the most productive and exciting practice sessions I've had in a while...like one where you play through something and think "shit yeah I've got this concerto competition in the bag bitches."  So that was exciting...and I got the end of the Weber faster than I ever have...which really made me happy because I've been beating my head against it all summer.

Last night was really cool.  I went to this fondue party and met some other music students.  Actually, I met 2 other students, one was a percussion graduate student (nice but really a typical bone-head percussionist--no offense to anyone) and a girl who played horn who I actually really liked because she had a great/sarcastic sense of humor.  We played Taboo and had drinks, which incidentally is one of those most fun things I've ever done and I highly recommend it.  So many inside jokes were made.  I really have not laughed that much in a long, long time.  Well when all was said and done I kept feeling like I had to leave because it kept getting later and later, but more people kept arriving and I felt obligated to stay, and I could tell that Matt wanted me to and I am very interested in getting to know him better.  They busted out a hookah so I decided to try that...it didn't do anything for me because I didn't get a buzz...so I was like why would you do it?  I want a buzz! haha.  2:30 rolled around and they were getting ready to do another round of Taboo and I finally tore myself away (sadly) and went home.  I didn't want to leave but I knew I would be a wreck today (which I sort of am).  Hooray for a fun evening!

I went out and read by the pool today.  I really think I could get used to all this sun and tropical weather =)
