While living in the Sticks with my grandmother and driving six miles to and from internet access every day I have passed a house that has piqued my interest.
First, I was interested because there is a modest-sized stone entrance with a gate. Atop either post of said gate are two ostentatious stone angels holding swords. Behind said gate, is a modest-sized brick house. I was intrigued first by the sword-carrying angels (of death?), then by the fact that there is a fancy gated entry to a modest-sized house.
This went on for weeks. Then a couple days ago, I saw the camel in their field. A two-hump camel. In a field. In the hills of Arkansas.
Which led me to notice that further back behind the modest-sized house is a giant house and further behind that is a giant barn-like structure. (Well, at least the gate makes sense with the giant house...notwithstanding the sword-carrying angels...of doom.)
What my grandmother told me? That some rich person owns the place, there used to be two camels, and apparently there also used to be buffalo.
I don't even.
I just keep hoping the camel will mosey up to the fence again so I can stop and get a picture next time.
