So yesterday was interesting. We just closed our second weekend of the show, and yesterday was the mantinee and strike. Well....I've kinda been getting very little sleep, and the more the show goes on, the less I sleep. We're talking a couple hours a night, and caffeine and adrenaline during the day. Yesterday, adrenaline failed me, and I was stuck with a small helping of coffee cake at 8am, followed by a travel mug of coffee, a can of pepsi, 3 caffeine pills, a Rockstar (energy drink), and another swig off a 24oz. pepsi. *cough* That's very bad....I found out close to the first intermission...when I threw up. *cough* Yeah, so I think I won't be drinking much caffeine for a while. I was already feeling rather uncomfortable before all that, then on top of it made me very shakey, very dizzy, and not at all awake. Stupid caffeine not doing it's job. Anyway...lied my way through the rest of the show, after telling my ASM that if I were to pass out before the show ended, she was going to have to be ready to take over the show; and strike, telling everyone "of course I'm fine.", waiting until they turned their backs to grab onto anything close to keep from falling over. Lucky for me, there were only 3 people with the rank to kick me out of strike, and one left early (Michael). Michael wouldn't leave me be though, before he left. He kept telling me to take it easy, my ASM could take over if I needed to go home, there's plenty of help so I could just lie down if I needed. He wasn't sure what was wrong, but Aislinn pretty much announced my getting sick to everyone backstage, so I'm sure he heard something. I love the girl, but she's really got to learn when to keep her mouth shut. I'm just glad Philip and Alex weren't there at the time, or they wouldn't have let me stay. Yeah, I know I should have left, but several of the cast already wanted to leave, and what would it have looked like to have the SM leave after telling everyone to stay and help strike. Doesn't work, I'm sorry. You stay, you suck it up, you hide it, but you don't go home cause of a little dizziness.
But I'm feeling better today, most of the shakiness has gone away, and although the thought of food makes me sick, I've managed to eat three meals, however small. It felt so nice to sleep in until 11am today. hehhe Although I shouldn't have, cause I guess they didn't have enough help at Cascade loading in. I'll have to be there tomorrow to see if they need me.
