I am mad a this place. I've always been one to look for the good in everything. It used to be so easy. My kid mind would blind me of what's really there, not anymore. I see things now. Things I can't ingnore anymore. They are too blunt and ugly for me to pass by. Today I witnessed something I had never experienced so close. I was riding with my friend Tony who was driving back from our school up in Springdale. Another student with many other students were driving behind us. They were trying to be cool or something like that, and were tailing us for sometime.
We crossed the Stark St. bridge and as our luck had it we were behind this very large contruction truck of some sort. The truck was of course not going fast enough for our young fast adrenaline but Tony could deal. The driver behind us couldn't. His pride and stupidness gripped him as it did a lot and he decided to pass us as we were comming around the bend by Hagars. The moment Tony said what the hell is he doing I looked back and saw him in the wrong lane comming up on our side, I flashed forward to the road ahead hoping there was not a car comming, but there was. I gasped with my hand at my mouth. The oncomming SUV was able to squeeze off on the side of the road. No honk, no crash, just proceeding trafic. The feeling of complete shock must had come over the person just as it had come over Tony and I.
I didn't know what to say. I thanked God that everyone was safe and nothing happend. The amount of anger I had/have for that dumbass kid was incredible. I wanted to strengle him, and yell at him! "Do you think! Do you not know how much danger you just put all your friends in! Are you a fucking idiot!?" Think. That's the problem, people don't think.
With this experience today I do have a sort of contentness. I truely know God was watching over us. A not so friendly reminder to be thankful for every day, because we'll never know when it's our last.
"light up, light up, as if you have the choice.....
I'll be right beside you dear"
