I am super-excited about Merlin airing in the US. I mean, my RL friends aren't going to look at me like I'm crazy anymore, and if it's successful there are going to be awesome action figures and such. Not to mention we'll probably have, like, a million people at meetups. But at the same time, the fandom's going to change a lot. :( I mean, we think we have growing pains now? I just hope it's the good sort of growth and not "for the love of Merlin please learn to use the lj cut" growth.
That is, of course, assuming that Merlin is going to be insanely popular once it broadcasts. (Which is a natural assumption, right? right?) At the very least, we're going to have more awesome fanfic, which is always great.
