WHOOPS, forgot I was gonna do my own topic last week instead of skipping. But I managed to knock
this week's Top Ten Tuesday theme out in about an hour, most of which was formatting, so off we go. I did a
double feature of this top in 2020, so I've already used many of my favorite covers -- not to mention a bunch from my summer TBR a couple weeks back that I didn't want to repeat so soon -- but here are some more!

1.
If I'm Being Honest - Emily Wibberly and Austin Siegemund-Broka
PEAK summer vibes, summer in L.A. vibes specifically (still on my TBR)
2.
Listen to Your Heart - Kasie West
Almost all of Kasie's books fit the "summery covers" theme, so this is really like ten for one. I haven't read this particular one, but the lake is where I wanna be.
3.
Don't Date Rosa Santos - NIna Moreno
The cover is a huge part of why I read this. And great news, almost can't decide which cover is best between this, the paperback cover w/ an alternate and closer-up shot of the girl in the yellow dress, or the Spanish cover -- they're all super great, go to Goodreads to see! (and no this post has not been sponsored by Goodreads. I just like it a lot)
4.
Mariam Sharma Hits the Road - Sheba Karim
I threw this hot mess back to the library within 20 pages because I was so grossed out by the beginning, and I'm still mad about because the cover is so great.
5.
Water Balloon - Audrey Vernick
This kids' book might actually be my favorite cover today?? I just found out about it 5 minutes ago, because I was looking up #10 to see if its cover was as summery as I remembered and this turned up in the "readers also liked" list, but this girl is so CUTE and everythng from her outfit to her smile against that beautiful blue sky just encapsulates the joy of summer.
6.
Girl Online - Zoe Sugg
I'd never heard of this book before I read it, I just picked it out at the library because its cover had the exact fun/summery vibes I was looking for at the time, and while you gotta zoom in to see them, the polaroids still convey that feeling to me. (also it's just a cute book whose controversy I don't understand, and since Brooklyn Boy is written to the exact specifications of 13-year-old-Me's perfect/dream boyfriend, I continue to hold it in fond regard)
7.
Beyond the Break - Heather Buchta
haven't read this, I just remember seeing it in the Goodreads Choice awards and tucking it away in my memory as a really cool cover, with such beautiful colors. Summer vibes, night style!
(*although with only 722 ratings today...even as a write-in, in 2020 that must have been a really targeted crowd-campaign attempt to raise its visibility)
8.
Girl Out of Water - Laura Silverman
Girl surfer, take 2! This might not seem summery at first glance, but sometimes summer is just scorched grassland and a punishingly blue sky. Her outfit, hair and deep tan are on point, though.
9.
The Summer of Chasing Mermaids - Sarah Ockler
Still in the middle of reading this one -- I had to take a break because I love it so much I can't handle it -- but I absolutely love the array of seashells, markers and other items fanned out in the sand around them. Also, she's gorgeous.
10.
Sparrow Road - Sheila O'Connor
This cover is the exact feeling of starting summer as a kid. Flop in the grass, bask in cloud-gazing and NOT DOING HOMEWORK.
Bonus
EMBARRASSING, I forgot two of the covers I MOST wanted to include...but I already uploaded the main collage and deleting images from LJ is a pain in the butt. Fine, now there are bonus images:
11.
Confessions of a High School Disaster - Emma Chastain
I literally bought this because of its summery vibes (even though it takes place over the whole year, it does actually start in summer.) (also be forewarned , there is way more hooking up than such an adorable cover suggests -- not detailed, but she's 14-15, so.)
12.
The Lake Season - Hannah McKinnon
I thought I put this one on my summer TBR post, but I must have found it later. Anyway, I Want To Go To Here even more than I want to go to the lake on the Kasie West book, and this is another one I'm planning on reading largely because I dig the cover.

Comment Process: despite checking every privacy option possible to allow it, LJ seems not to be letting people post anonymous comments here, possibly because I refuse to switch the hideous mobile-friendly "up-to-date" version of the layout. So your options are
creating a free LJ account, or trying to comment anonymously and then, after it says it wasn't posted, you get an option to log in with an OpenID, Twitter, Facebook or Google account and post it. I recognize it's a hassle, and I'm bad at responding to comments lately anyway, so zero pressure to leave one, I just hope you enjoy reading or at least looking at the collage.
