OOPS, I DID IT AGAIN, argh. Thanks for letting me know! In my haste to get it up before bed I must not have been paying attention to my copy-paste. Which stinks because this is my favorite topic in a while.

Sadly few of these books got much critical acclaim, which is the best hope of a not-mega-popular debut getting another shot, but I definitely remain hopeful.

That's a great idea for a topic, I'll have to remember that for the next time I don't feel comfortable with the weekly one or there is another freebie. A few authors come to mind, so I will have to see whether I just missed their second one. A few of them have died, sadly, so I know there won't be a second one.

I thought I heard the name Tess Calahan with a different title but I think I am mistaken. The others, never heard of them. But I hardly ever read YA novels anymore, bit too far removed from that age group, even my kids. LOL

It really was, and it's the kind of book I can tell I would have been OBSESSED WITH in elementary school, too, which is always a pleasure.

What a great take on this week's freebie prompt. I haven't read any of the ones you've shared, but I do have an author who released one book that I loved and then poof she was gone. I wish she would release something else!
