Interviewer: How would you describe Westlife fans?
Nicky: The best in the world.
I love you boys ♥
Interviewer: How long do you think you can go on then?
Nicky: Forever.
Oh my gawsh, Nicky. You are so... awesome. I don't even know if that word does you justice.
I just finished a video of them in an MSN interview in 2001, I think. Right after their World of Our Own album was out. It really was such a long time ago. They looked so young! And they didn't have very many fans and all that. But they still had their amazing voices and looks ;) I miss the old Mark D: He was wearing a red hoodie and looked positively hot. Miss him T_T
But it was a great interview. Bryan kept saying weird stuff XD And, yeah. Another thing different was that Bryan was still there. But the boys had great answers for all the fan questions. And the funny thing is that a lot of the questions are the same as the ones I've seen sent to the lads these past few days XD It's awesome.
It was a long video though P: 32 minutes and 3 seconds. And at the end, two little girls who won some contest came out and sat by them. It was really weird seeing two fans of the lads not screaming and crying and freaking out over seeing the boys. Their fame has really shot up since then.
Hm.
It's just kinda weird to think about it. Like, they were talking about how being in the band for three years is so awesome and they will never split up and all that. And I just laughed to myself since they've now past their ten year anniversary and have now been in the business for eleven years. And I kept on looking at Bryan, thinking how just two years later he would come to leave them and become so serious and melancholy.
I can't say I miss the old Westlife (and Bryan) because the current one is amazing. The four lads are doing well without Bryan. Their new album will be out in twelve days, and all seems to be going awesome for them. They are definitely more mature now, if you compare their interviews from the old days with their track-by-track thing that's going on for Where We Are.
I love them so much at this point. Yes, they're getting older with more wrinkles and less jokes, and now they're husbands and fathers instead of just singles and boyfriends, but they're still the same band. They're still the same lads, still the same Shane, Nicky, Mark, and Kian.
And I love them for that.
Their passion for the thing that they do has never died. Since the beginning when they had very few fans and no fame up to now with their 14 No. 1 singles and 43m records sold. It's just amazing to me.
And, yes, maybe more people are starting to consider them as old-fashioned and "last millennium's." But I don't care. They still have their amazing vocals, and their songs are still as good as always, if not getting better. I'll always support them. Until the end of time ;)
I know this post is even more scattered than the one about Nicky, Sr. (R.I.P.), and I myself am not even sure why. Hopefully this makes some sense. I guess I may just be writing for my own self, ya know. I need some place to put these thoughts down, and this blog is here for a reason ;)
All the best for the new album, lads!
