← That's exactly my reaction when I discovered Asterisk is a love song. At least to me, that's what it is. Not long after, the song itself turns into a cascade of feels and I'm drowning in it. It's a poetic and ambitious song. All those vague and yet resonating phrases and all the celestial parlance... The word "innovation" doesn't seem out of place at all. Even in broken English, it manages to move me. Here are some random excerpts (©

Dreaming of past times
Human mystery
Be with you
Only looking at you
At the ends of space where even the stars sleep, you and me are wandering aimlessly
Everything pulses with the desire for love Crossing through thousands of spaces and times
Release it, at the speed of light An innovation of the distant future
I'm in galaxy It's no fantasy I'll show it to you
Even the radiance is captured by the black hole
The eras have come and gone
A shower of light escapes our bodies Running through a tunnel
The starry sky keeps calling out to us
It touches our skin
The starry sky is watching
Promises that continue to twinkle The eternity we had searched for together
Going around and around the sun It's our destiny to be drawn to each other
I would melt like butter if someone were to write me a song of this kind and feel. It's so mysterious. It's sounds very otherworldly and it invokes a strange feeling, with some sadness along with it, that I can't quite explain. Like experiencing
yugen.
It might be the love song to end all love songs for me. This might be my song for Arashi!
P.S.
Also love One Step because it is awash with the Arashi flavor. I think it's going to be popular among the classic, hopeful, forward-looking stash of songs they have.
And Take Off because because it officially baptized us as Arashians [10.22.2014]. Aside from our second birthdays, we now have a second baptism day. LOL. I can imagine the boatloads of fun and interaction between the members and fans being skillfully executed by this song. It's going to be like a ball of excitable energy bouncing between them performers and the audience. I can imagine the sweat, the jumping, and the waving!
The rest of the songs I will like belatedly. It is the case with Arashi. It's always a long, slow fall.
Happy 5x15, Arashi! There is no other picture of brotherhood that comes to mind but that of yours! All the snippets to your Hawaii adventure is a testament to that! Thank you for coming to our lives!
